Spot Crypto ETFs Took In About $1 Billion, Their Strongest Week Since April
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in roughly $754 million for the week ending August 7, with Ethereum ETFs adding about $245 million.
The flow number is the story this week, not the price. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs took in roughly $754 million for the week ending August 7. Ethereum spot ETFs added about $245 million. Combined, that is close to $1.0 billion and the strongest combined week since April.
Why the ratio is worth as much as the total
Bitcoin took roughly three dollars for every one that went to Ethereum. That split has been the durable shape of institutional crypto allocation since the products launched, and a week where the combined total jumps without the ratio changing is a scaling of existing behaviour rather than a rotation into something new.
What it does and does not tell you
ETF creations are the cleanest institutional-demand series available here, because they are a settled number rather than an inference from on-chain activity. What they do not tell you is conviction or horizon. A creation is a purchase; it is not a promise, and the same series ran negative for stretches earlier this year.
Bitcoin traded near $65,000 across the same window. The price stability under a flow week this size is the part worth watching: demand arriving without a corresponding move usually means supply is meeting it somewhere.
