Jayden Higgins Tears ACL
Higgins is done for 2026. Torn ACL, joint practice, Rapoport. A 41-525-6 rookie year is now a 2027 story. Houston’s room just got smaller before Week 1.
Ian Rapoport had it Wednesday: Jayden Higgins tore his ACL in Tuesday’s joint practice with the Raiders and will miss the 2026 season. ESPN’s sourcing matched. The play was an end-zone route in red-zone 11-on-11; he fell awkwardly. Tests confirmed it. That is the whole medical file. There is no “week-to-week” in this one.
Higgins was the 34th pick in 2025. As a rookie he caught 41 passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns after Tank Dell’s 2024 knee injury opened a lane. Rapoport’s own read on Wednesday was that Higgins had been having an excellent offseason and was primed for a leap. That leap is now 2027. Nico Collins is still the WR1. Dell is back in the building. Jaylin Noel is the other young name Rapoport put next to them. We will stop there. We are not going to rank a rebuilt Houston depth chart off a reporter’s clause.

Redraft: zero. Dynasty: stash through the rehab and do not expect 2026 snaps. Best-ball: the 41-525-6 season is a prior, not a 2026 projection. Houston passing volume that was going to Higgins is now a committee question among Collins, Dell, Noel, and whoever Nick Caserio adds. Rapoport floated a trade as something Caserio has done. Floated is not filed. We will not name a target.
C.J. Stroud lost a weapon. That is the only QB sentence. It does not make Collins a lock for 150 targets and it does not make Dell a stealth WR2. It makes the Texans thinner than they were on Monday.
